Wednesday, September 2nd is a big one for the Texas Lotto. Players get the chance to win the fifth-largest lottery jackpot in the world right now, a cool $36.8 million.
This rollover streak has continued since 2010 and 65 drawings without a jackpot winner. If won on Wednesday the lucky ticket holder will pick up an estimated $30.8 Million in cash after taxes.
"Lotto Texas has been on quite a run this year and now our players will have a shot to play for the game's largest jackpot prize in more than decade," said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery Commission. "I look forward to congratulating the biggest Lotto Texas winner since 2010. As growing jackpots tend to generate much excitement, we want to remind our players to play responsibly. It only takes one ticket to win."
This huge jackpot has led to brisk ticket sales with online retailers busy processing entries ahead of the draw on Wednesday.
Texas Lotto requires you to pick six numbers from a guess range of 1-54. If your six numbers match the ones drawn you win the jackpot.
Of course, there are plenty of lower-division prizes with a total of five prize levels so if your numbers only form a partial match with those drawn, you could still have won a Lotto Texas prize! More information on playing Texas Lotto here.
The game of Texas also offers players the chance to boost second-tier prize winnings. You can do so by playing the Extra and increase the secondary prizes you win by up to $10,000!
Texas Lotto results will be available on our lotto results page shortly after the draw on Wednesday.
We wish good luck to all participants!
