The Western Canada Lottery Corporation has announced some big changes to the popular Lotto Max game and the news has been well received by Canadians and world lottery players.
From May 11th 2019 a Lotto Max draw will take place on Tuesday's as well as the existing Friday draw day and the jackpot will increase by $10 million up to $70 million.
Additionally, there will also be two new prize categories, match 5/7+bonus, and match 4/7+bonus with $1 million Maxmillions prizes triggering when the main jackpot reaches and exceeds $50 million.
Lotto Max was launched with enthusiastic fanfare in 2009 offering multiple $50 million jackpots a year. The jackpot cap increased to $60 million in 2015.
A spokesperson for the WCLC said the second draw every week means lottery players will see jackpots grow more quickly than ever before.
Over the past decade Lotto Max has paid out more than $10 billion in cash prizes and has grown to become a firm favourite lotto game with both Canadians and foreigners who play world lotteries.
