Lottery players from the UK are flocking to play this Saturday's US Powerball lottery, hoping to be the lucky person to win $495 million after none of the players were lucky enough to get a six-number match during Wednesday’s drawing.
This Saturday's jackpot of $495 million is the eighth largest offered in the lottery’s history and sites such as theLotter are experiencing high volumes of ticket sales for those who live outside of the United States but want to play for this massive jackpot.
Despite no jackpot winner, Wednesday's drawing with white balls 18, 36, 45, 47, 69, plus Powerball 14, and Powerball multiplier 3X did produce some winners with nine ways to score cash prizes ranging from $4 to $2 million.
Mercury news reported that David Barden, Powerball product group chairman and New Mexico Lottery chief executive officer, said: “Jackpot excitement rolls on, just one $2 Powerball play could be the ticket to this giant jackpot or any of the eight other price tiers.”
