Sticking to the same lottery routine for 30 years paid off for a Michigan man this month when his habitual behaviour struck gold with a $167,407 jackpot win.
"I have been buying a seven-draw Fantasy 5 ticket at the same store every Monday for 30 years," he said. "When I checked the numbers the morning after the drawing and saw they matched the numbers on my ticket, I was elated."
The lucky winner who has opted to remain anonymous bought his winning Fantasy 5 ticket at Campbell's Party Store, located at 3321 North Campbell Road in Royal Oak matching the numbers drawn on May 4th — 1, 11, 19, 24, and 36 to win the jackpot.
Although purchasing his lottery tickets from the same store for many years the jackpot winners weekly numbers followed no plan or method, infact the winning numbers came from a ticket with five Easy Picks.
"I had some unexpected expenses over the past few years, so this will really help rebuild my savings," said the winner. "It's a really nice chunk of change!"
The player who collected his big winnings from Lottery headquarters on Tuesday plans to complete some home renovations and then save the remainder.
Michigan lottery players can now play Fantasy 5 armchair surfing, on a bus browsing, or during a lunch break, because you can play the game online from the Michigan Lottery official site along with several other games including Lotto 47, Powerball, and Mega Millions.
