One Florida Lotto ticket scoops $15.5 million

A press release from the Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee states today that one Florida Lotto ticket scoops $15.5 million from the drawing held on Febraury 6th.

The lucky winner, Niranjan Patel, 41, has opted to take his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $10,539,204.33. He becomes the second person from south Lee County to rake in a big Lotto prize in nearly a year.

Niranjan purchased his winning ticket from a Publix at 2465 Glades Circle in Weston where there are more celebrations taking place as the retailer will receive a bonus commission of $100,000 for selling the valuable winning ticket.

The next Florida Lotto drawing will be held at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, February 16th, with a $3 million jackpot.
