The Illinois Lottery experienced a technical glitch just before the drawing on Tuesday causing disruptions for ticket retailers and players.
The problem affected Pick 3 and Pick 4 games, it impacted last minute players who were unable to purchase tickets for these games at retailers for the scheduled regular midday draw.
The Illinois Lottery technical teams worked extremely hard to resolve this problem and have reported that the issue has now been resolved.
"Players can resume purchasing tickets for these games at Illinois Lottery retailers," they said in a tweet to their followers. "We apologize for the inconvenience. Tonight's 9:22 p.m. draw will take place as planned."
The midday drawing set for 12:40 p.m was affected by the glitch but still took place as planned because tickets have already been purchased.
While the system was down at participating retailers, players could still purchase tickets online and via the lottery's mobile app.
Only Pick 3 and Pick 4 games were affected, all other tickets unaffected by the technical issues.
