$1.34 Billion Mega Millions jackpot still unclaimed

The Mega Millions players among you will know that on July 29th someone walked into a gas station in Suburban Des Plaines, Illinois, USA and bought the winning $1.34 billion Mega Millions lottery ticket.

The lottery prize is the second biggest ever in the United States. However, according to Illinois Lottery Officials, the winner still hasn't come forward.

"As far as the winner is concerned, we have not heard from the winner yet," Illinois Lottery Director Harold Mays said last month at a press conference. "We don't know whether or not they even know that they won the prize, so I encourage everybody to check your ticket."

The last date on which the mystery winner can claim the jackpot prize is 12 months from the date of the draw. However, only 60 days from the date of the draw to choose between the cash or annual payment options.
